Share a Moment

Throughout Mental Health Month, Footprints Community is inviting everyone to create one small moment of connection each day.

A message. A cuppa. A walk. A conversation.

Sometimes something simple can help someone feel seen, included and connected.

Share a Moment

Connection and a sense of belonging are important to our wellbeing. While loneliness can affect anyone, we don’t always know when someone around us is feeling disconnected.

A small act won’t solve everything — but it can create an opportunity to connect.

Sometimes, you just need to share a moment.

What is Share a Moment?

Share a Moment is about making connection part of everyday life.

Throughout October, we’re encouraging people to notice the opportunities around them to reach out, include someone or reconnect.

It could be:

  • sending a message to someone you haven’t spoken to lately;
  • inviting someone for a cuppa or walk;
  • saying hello to someone sitting alone;
  • checking in with a neighbour or colleague;
  • making time for a conversation; or
  • simply stopping long enough to ask, “How are you going?”

There’s no perfect way to take part.

Just notice someone. Include someone. Reconnect with someone.

Create one small moment of connection every day throughout October.

Our 30-Day Share a Moment Challenge gives you one simple prompt each day — from messaging someone you’ve been meaning to contact to inviting someone for a cuppa.

Do it on your own, with friends, at work or in your community.

The campaign’s 30 Days of Moments concept is deliberately based on simple everyday actions that encourage connection and belonging.

No sign-up. No fundraising target. No pressure. Just 30 opportunities to connect.

There’s something beautifully simple about sitting down with someone over a cup of tea or coffee.

That’s why our Share a Moment packs contain two tea bags — one for you and one to share.

Make the tea. Put the phone away. Have a conversation.

Sometimes the moment itself is enough.

Contact us about getting your pack.

We’d love to see how you’re taking part in Share a Moment this October.

Share a photo, video or story about your moment of connection and tag Footprints Community on social media.

About Footprints Community

Footprints Community is a not-for-profit organisation supporting people across Queensland through mental health & wellbeing, ageing services and beyond.

For more than 30 years, we’ve helped people find the right support, stay connected and shape their own path. This fits Footprints’ broader emphasis on connection, belonging and person-led support.

If you’re feeling lonely, disconnected or having a difficult time, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
