Reconciliation Week Activities

Footprints Community will reinforce our commitment to building respectful connections with First Nations people, Elders, communities and organisations during Reconciliation Week – 27 May to 3 June – with its 2025 theme: Bridging Now to Next.

We have a number of activities planned aimed at giving our teams greater visibility to First Nations clients and create a welcoming and supportive workplace for First Nations staff.

During the week, we will:

  • launch a First Nations artwork, as shown below, dedicated to Footprints by Emily Robinson, a First Nations Aboriginal artist from Awabakal, Mithaka, Muruwarri and Kulilli tribes.

  • launch a First Nations polo shirt featuring the new artwork
  • encourage use of a First Nations background for Teams meetings
  • provide First Nations event items, such as tablecloths and banners with First Nations artwork

Building First Nations connections is an integral part of our RAP (Reconciliation Action Plan) commitment. Our First Nations Manager, Laurie Stewart, has recently been busy engaging in community, attending events alongside Footprints teams.

These have included:

  • hosting an information stall at Kulila Indigenous Kindy’s Close the Gap Day (Toowoomba) – pictured below with Hayley Langton First Nations Case Worker Toowoomba Housing Hub
  • hosting a stall at the Momentum Mental Health Wellbeing Symposium, held in collaboration with the Pureland Learning College and supported by the Bupa Foundation (Toowoomba)
  • joining local Elders at the Gunya Meta Breakfast (Logan City).
