Meet Remi – Team Leader Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) and Community Transport.
With ACVVS, Remi’s role is to recruit volunteers and match them to like-minded aged care recipients who are feeling socially isolated or lonely, where they will provide friendship through direct social interactions.
She has been working for Footprints for over 6 years, and started out as a trainee Intake Officer.
Remi has many feel good moments in this role, meeting volunteers and learning why they want to volunteer, meeting aged care recipients and listening to their stories, and most importantly the time when she is able to complete a match and introduce the volunteer to the recipient for the first time. It’s very rewarding to know this can be the start to a great new friendship.
The staff at Footprints are all welcoming and kind and also supportive, it is a great environment to work in. There is opportunity for career growth within Footprints, I am proof of that going from trainee to Intake Officer, to Case Worker, to Coordinator and now Team Leader.
Remi expanded her role in ACVVS to include Community Transport in September 2024.
